Chris Persampieri

Chris Persampieri is a city letter carrier with nine years of experience, including more than three years as a CCA. He currently serves as Legislative Political Director for NALC Branch 18 in southeastern Massachusetts.

Before becoming a letter carrier, Chris helped organize the first union drive of warehouse workers at FedEx Ground in the country with the Teamsters in 2011. He later led a contract campaign as a rank-and-file member at a private group home agency with SEIU Local 509, helping win the largest raises at that agency in 30 years. He went on to serve as a union field representative, where he helped defend workers and win stronger contracts.

Inside the NALC, Chris helped create Massachusetts Build a Fighting NALC and helped organize outreach for the Vote No campaign on Amazon Sundays. Along with other union members, he helped organize one of the biggest “Fight Like Hell” rallies in the country, held in Boston, which brought together members of Congress, other union leaders, and hundreds of members of the community.

Chris is running with the Stand Up Slate for AFL-CIO delegate because he believes the role should be more than ceremonial. The NALC needs delegates who will actively fight for universal healthcare, a 32-hour workweek with no loss in pay, taxing the rich, and building a workers’ party independent of both corporate parties.
